Hey everyone, I need some help making a decision between NCL Encore and Celebrity Solstice for a September Alaskan cruise. It’s for my 40th birthday, so I want it to be an awesome trip.
The NCL itinerary starts/ends in Seattle and goes to Glacier Bay (which everyone says we must see). Their excursions seem super expensive and meh.
Celebrity starts/ends in Vancouver and goes to inside passage. We’ve seen some excursions that are interesting. Port hours seem to be better.
I have the Aquaclass balcony room on hold with Celebrity, and I have a balcony room booked on NCL (need to pay off by the 15th).
About us: no kids. We like to drink, eat good food, and listen to live music. I do like a high end vibe without being pretentious.
I’ve only been on one cruise, NCL to Mexico about 14 years ago with my parents. My husband cruised a bit on Royal with his family.
We’re not too worried about the cost (it’s about the same when you add in everything), we’re just looking for good vibes with a great backdrop.
