* irgc did hit a ship
* irgc is signaling that they will hit a ship

The real takeaway is that this conflict isn’t ending and oil volatility will be higher in the short term. Expect confirmed kinetic action in the near term.

That and the ungodly uptick in US tanker deployment over the last several days.

The point of the “humanitarian” effort was that if there is no attack, then the USA is able to assert free navigation under their umbrella. If there is, then Trump can “defensively” respond to a threat against the USA, making taking further action more legal than before and restarting the war powers clock.
