My hips and pelvis are all sorts of messed up from childhood cancer and I have been in a manual wheelchair since I was about ten. My family explored hip replacements as an option when I was a teenager, but their insurance wouldn't cover it so it never happened.

Fifteen years ago, when I was a freshman in college, I saw three separate hip surgeons about doing possible hip replacements at that point. One of them simply said no. One of them said he "wouldn't touch my hips with a ten foot pole". The final surgeon suggested we might be able to do a procedure where they take 3D scans of my pelvis and basically create a whole new artificial hip socket for a hip replacement to be seated in. That also fell through because the doctor said the 3D scans showed my pelvis was too far gone for such a procedure, there just wasn't enough bone left to mount the hardware to.

So yeah, fifteen years later, I'm in my 30s now, have there been any advances since then such that its worth pursuing hip replacements again? I would just give up and accept that this is how things will be for me forever, but for the fact that I am in a lot of pain that gets worse every year. So I'd still like to pursue some kind of remedy if one exists other than pain meds, which I refuse to take.

Here are x-rays of my right hip and my left hip from fifteen years ago to give you an idea of my situation. I haven't had any scans of my hips since then, presumably they are much much worse now, due to atrophy, disuse osteoporosis, avascular necrosis, etc. The right was already a lost cause back then, so presumably nothing can be done there, but maybe something can still be done on the left side?

Just wanted to get the lay of the land before I start spending a lot of time and money on scans and appointments with surgeons/specialists.

Thanks

Something has started happening with one of my SSDs tonight and I was looking for any insight others could provide on what might be happening? Its a 2TB Solidigm P41 Plus. I bought it about two and half years ago and used it since then with no issue. I use this drive as a game drive, there is nothing currently on it other than World of Warcraft and Diablo 4 (Battle.net is installed on my OS drive, so this drive literally just has game files and nothing else). Diablo 4 is what has seemingly caused or been a catalyst for whatever is happening.

A few hours ago, I tried to launch Diablo 4. It launched like normal and was doing the normal login stuff, when the game client froze and had an error popup telling me the game needed an update. When I clicked the update button in Battle.net, I started getting errors telling me the update couldn't be installed. I restarted my PC and everything seemingly went back to normal, Diablo 4 didn't even say it needed to be updated anymore and launched normally.

I played the game for about an hour when it crashed again, this time showing a popup that said the game files were corrupted and I should do a scan and repair from within Battle.net. Once again, when I clicked that option in Battle.net, I was getting errors telling me it couldn't be completed.

I also launched CrystalDiskInfo while this was going on and the Solidigm drive I have the game on was not appearing in my list of drives. It did, however, still appear in Windows Explorer and I could still navigate folders within it normally.

I once again restarted my PC and once again, everything seemingly returned to normal. I tried to do the scan and repair on Diablo 4 and it said everything was fine, nothing was corrupt or needed to be replaced. And the drive appears on CrystalDiskInfo again as well. I haven't tried to launch the game again for fear I might make things worse since I don't know what is happening.

Any idea what could be going on here? CrystalDiskInfo says the drive is fine and like I said, I have been (lightly) using it for two and half years with no issue (lightly in that its always been a game drive and I have only ever had a few games on it at any given time).

I have been playing Diablo 4 the past few days without any issues whatsoever from the game or this drive, even earlier today it worked without issue. All of this only started happening tonight when I tried to hop back on the game. Nothing happened on my PC in the interim so far as I can tell, no updates to Windows, the game, or Battle.net, no restarts. So I am at a loss as to what might be happening.

Thanks for any insight.
