How to start in cybersecurity
Hi everyone, I’m a 3rd-year Computer Engineering student. Since my 1st year, I’ve been self-studying web development, and over time I got pretty comfortable with it. However, I eventually started losing interest and felt like my passion for web dev slowly faded.
Recently, I’ve been wanting to transition into cybersecurity, especially red teaming. I really want to build my skills in this field and learn how offensive security works in real-world environments. Right now, I’m using platforms like HTB and THM, and I’ve also earned some certifications from Google and Cisco.
I’d really appreciate any suggestions, resources, or advice that could help me improve further. I’m also looking for a full roadmap for becoming a red teamer, along with hands-on learning materials, labs, and video content from people who are already working in red teaming or cybersecurity. Any guidance would mean a lot. Thanks!
