For the north side BWT who need a nail salon rec

To clarify early: this is NOT an ad or anything like that! The owners have no idea I’m writing this, never asked me to, and probably don’t even know what Reddit is. I’ve just been a patron for a while now and want to see their business thrive

I’ve been going to Right Nail Salon on Sheridan (Edgewater/Uptown area) for maybe a year now, sometime after the new owner Wendy took over, and I love it. I tried at least a dozen nail salons all across Chicago and had pretty meh or terrible experiences every time. Ridiculous prices, poor color selection, bad customer service, and/or my nails being ruined by the poor care. Right Nail Salon actually charges what I think are fair prices ($38 for Gel/No-Chip, and they post all prices online, check Google Maps), doesn’t stiff you with a bunch of extra fees, and genuinely cares about making sure you leave happy. Wendy’s business is small, just her and her husband, and has a very “mom & pop” kind of vibe. They get to know you by name and remember your preferences/style.

Not to mention the quality is great. Wendy puts a lot of care and attention on healthy nails. Seriously my nails used to break pretty much whenever they grew past my fingertips; after switching to Wendy my nails have grown extremely long while still being strong and healthy despite a lot of use and weightlifting. My nails never chip, crack, break, etc, the gel sets last 3 weeks minimum, and I’ve never had issues with bad application or poor design execution.

I really want her business to have more customers because she truly deserves it, so I hope you give them a try if you’re looking for a salon!
