I saw a thread a couple weeks ago asking for OB/GYN recs for pregnancy, and it inspired me to ask here about something specific. I am overdue to get my Mirena replaced— I’ve been putting it off because I’ve been dreading the pain. A family member (out of state) told me that some practices now offer twilight anesthesia or numbing shots for the insertion. Does anyone know of any in the city? I’m in Gold Coast fwiw.

May 5th is my birthday so I want good Mexican but still want cute spot. Think Lyra but Mexican lol. Looking for recs preferably in the northern suburbs but will take western suburbs or the the city. Thanks ☺️

What are your favorite Pilates studios or classes in Chicago or the suburbs? I get 4 a month with my gym membership but want to branch out 1 time a week at a different studio.

Its so hard to find professional & affordable techs up north, northwest or south. Nobody has good customer service anymore ugh! The facebook groups are full of scams. I am a nail tech myself but I want to treat myself and start getting my nails done.

I dont want to pay over $65 for a simple short color acrylic or french tip set. Any recommendations? Preferably an independent tech with a suite or booth that you know is clean. A salon is okay but I've seen how salons skate around cleaning and disinfecting standards and I want to make sure I'm safe.

hi!! im moving to chicago for school from socal, which kind of feels like the land of fitness like theres a mat pilates/reformer/lagree/solidcore/yoga studio every 2 feet. i currently have a contemporary mat pilates certification but primarily teach heated sculpt classes (some places for reference would be The Sculpt Room, Sol Studio, FORMA).

looking on maps and reddit, i feel like reformer pilates and lagree seems like the more popular modality with more studios to teach at. im not really into yoga sculpt, so im wondering if there's a big market for mat pilates or if its worth it to get a reformer/lagree cert instead? also would love any recs for studios!!

For context, I’m not really a drinker/non-smoker. I love 😍 Garrett’s popcorn, thinking I’ll visit the main shop (any special tour or experience there you’d recommend?). I was told get pizza @ Gino’s East - same person told me the weather will be warm that time of year, true or false? I love King Spa (in VA), would have loved to spend a day at the one in Niles but their nude policy is a no-go (in Chantilly VA there’s a whole rooftop of pools & water massage jets to explore wearing a bathing suit). Is there anything similar you’d suggest?

Hey, gals! My husband and I just bought a condo (yay) and we are trying to furnish the place with adult furniture. We are looking at sofas and are interested in a couch from dream sofa, but they don’t have a showroom in Chicago and it’s kind of a big risk to take without actually being able to sit on the sofa. They have 100 day free trial but if we don’t like it, it’s probably gonna be close to $1000 to return it….

Does anyone have a dream sofa and if so, do you like it? Is it worth it? Is it soft?
