I've enjoyed shooting the 692 but I have to admit that the front sight leaves something to be desired. When I took it to the range on Wednesday the lane was a little dark and that front sight was a bear to locate!

Are there any replacement sights that work with the 692? I understand that as a ported gun fiber optic sights will take a beating, but I'm willing to live with that as long as I can see them. I wasn't going to mount an optic, but if I have to....

It was with trepidation that I fired my first shots with the Taurus EG 692 using the .357 cylinder (it has two cylinders: 9mm/.357). Since I can only shoot with one hand, I ran about 90 9mm shots through the revolver first to "brace" myself for the kick.

It wasn't too bad. I shot 115 and 147 grain loads. But I could still feel the kick and I would not spend too much time firing .357 as it would become wearying. The porting certainly helps, though.
