Hello, I wanted to know if switching from a heavily de-bloated Windows 11 Pro to Arch Linux + Hyprland (I am also considering Debian + Mate) will be worth it for me. I am worried about the features I may lose, particularly in the case of my 3D virtual sound setup, and my UWQHD and HDR support.
I am concerned I will lose support for 3D sound and have issues with my monitor on Linux. I use a full AMD PC, so I won't have issues with drivers or anything. I am more worried about my audio settings and my monitor's HDR. I have 32GB of 7200MHz RAM with a Ryzen 5 9600 with an AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB. I am currently using DTS:X 24-bit 48k audio with a DT 900 PRO X. I am using an Oratory 1990 parametric EQ to make it clinically flat. My new screen is arriving on the 24th of May; it is an Alienware AW3425DW. I am going to be upgrading to 64GBs at the end of the year and upgrading to a Ryzen 7 9800x3D and Radeon RX9070XT and wanted to know if I will be able to still get 3D virtual sound. I am also worried that, besides 3D sound issues, my monitor will not be able to function correctly. I also spend around 6 to 12 hours a day gaming, so I really do not want to lose my audio setup. I am not concerned about my games not working on Linux because I am making a new Steam account from scratch and should not worry about any of the games I get not working because I will always check on ProtonDB first before I buy them. I will appreciate any and all advice related to audio and monitors on Linux. I use WSL Debian BTW and I will be using Pengwin if I cannot switch to Linux.
