I have a friend who is an active duty special agent with one of the MCIOs. Friend is getting out of the military. I am trying to get them hired as a lateral but our HR doesn’t understand that an active duty special agent does the same job and goes through the same training as a civilian special agent. They have the FLETC cert but their 214 says special investigations rather than special agent & this is what HR is hung up on. Is there any OPM guidance/guidelines that equate the two?
