Hello fellow Sequoia lovers!

I have a question about the durability of the transfer case. I have a 2002 sequoia, and I recently had an issue with the transfer case actuator going out. Mechanic quoted me several thousand dollars to essentially rebuild the transfer case. Luckily I've managed to get it into AWD (center diff unlocked) and I've changed the transfer case fluid.

My question is this: Is there any downside (besides fuel economy) to keeping the car in AWD forever?
