Should i mention a grant in the cover letter which is still under process?

I have an invitation letter from a danish university, in that invitation it is mentioned that i am supposed to be funded by xyz grant(the grant is reimbursed after the trip so i have to pay for everything myself throughout the trip) but the grant is still under process and by the time i plan to apply for visa it won't be processed. So should i mention that i am independently solvent and have enough funds to support my visit or should i mention it and also mention i have applied for xyz grant. i only have a letter of support for that grant and nothing else. like won't they be suspicious why the grant hasn't been processed or i can just mention it is under process or completely ignore it. I am super confused.

Hi everyone,

I am from India and applying for a Denmark Schengen visa for a research internship at DTU. I have an official invitation letter and all required documents.

The only issue is that I may not receive my scholarship/grant result before my VFS appointment on 22 May. I do have sufficient personal/family funds to cover the trip myself.

Will applying as self-funded for a research internship look suspicious to the embassy, or is this normal as long as finances are strong?

Travel date is 9 June, so I am also a bit worried about the processing time.

Would appreciate any recent experiences or advice. Thanks!

i’m the kind of guy who regularly tips gig workers, but what happened yesterday kinda changed that mindset. the amount wasn’t big, but still.

ordered from blinkit and the rider asked me to pay ₹159 via his personal QR, saying he hadn’t received any cash the whole day and needed it on his personal QR. sounded a bit odd but i still paid.

right after that he says the money is “stuck” and asks me to pay again.

that’s where it felt off. i refused to use his QR again and paid through the app instead. he gave me his number and said he’d return the money if the first payment went through.

of course it did. and when i tried calling him later, i realized he had blocked me.

not even about the ₹159 tbh, just the way it was handled.

lesson learned:

- no personal QR payments

- always pay in-app

anyone else had this happen?
