First track day has me feeling discouraged
Went out today with an org in my area, having almost no (open lapping at my own pace) track experience, cool guys but I’m walking away having learned nothing. They differentiate their intro group from their C group. I didn’t know this as the C was the lowest available tier I could register for, and they didn’t host their intro group as it was a race weekend, again something I had no idea about, and hit the track without a coach or really any direction. I found a coach who let me follow him so I could see the proper lines for this track, but he outpaced me on the third lap on a corner I was having a hard time with and I was back on my own again. Also, there were racers practicing in the C group that day leaving me in the dust. I just found it so hard to improve as I didn’t know where to begin, I was really just relegated to watching the faster riders later in the day and trying to emulate them.
Honestly, just venting since I’m a little bummed. Next try around I will book the intro course so I can get some personal coaching and instruction
