Stone/Crystal balls

Anyone have experience with Stones or Crystal balls on your mouse? My adept arrives this Friday, and I’ve been eyeballing Obsidian, Lapis, and other stone balls to use with it. If you’ve got experience, what vendor? I’ve just looked on Amazon as I have a hard time trusting sites like Etsy, temu, or even eBay most times. Lmk 😎

I plan to use one side for gaming, and plug the other one in for shortcuts in my animation software in a macro pad kind of way. I’m not a coder, and new to split boards. Anyone know about this kit / have recommendations?

Also if you know of a good one hander or small keyboard that come kit styled like this (I have extra switches), I’d like to know, so I can just use that with layers for gaming/macro pad-ing.

Has anyone put stone balls like amethyst or something on their trackballs? Just pulled the trigger on an adept and I feel like once I come around to modifying it, I’ll first want to try a heavier or different ball material. I’ve eyeballed some stones, could this work?

I’ve heard about the brass ball situation, so maybe not.

I currently use the Deco 01 V2 for 2d animation, and have been thinking about getting one of the Artist series pen displays. What size is absolutely necessary? I want to spend less money and get the 13 inch one, but if y’all think that seems too small, I’ll go bigger. Any users have complaints about the smaller sizes?

About to pull the trigger on the Adept, but had some questions.

  1. Can I flip its orientation 180 degrees to make buttons easier to press, as I assume they’re a little difficult to reach?
  2. I’m a college student and an animator, it seems having those extra buttons and desk space would be helpful for command keys and making more room for my pen display, but is the adept accurate enough for correcting small errors in timelines and the final steps similar to video editing?
  3. How does it feel for the occasional gaming? I mostly play Arc Raiders, Battlefield, Fortnite with friends, used to play CSGO and Valorant before switching to controller for my smaller setups. But will likely play them again with the adept.
  4. With growing skill in animating, will likely start the YouTube thing soon, how does it feel for video editing?

Sorry if I ramble a little, I’m quickly typing this at work lol. Any advice you might have is greatly appreciated. I don’t really notice pain or discomfort with using a mouse, but I feel that for convenience and productivity, I’ll be less “try hard” in games, making me less inclined to game for longer. But that’s not the only reason. Anyways… let me know!

I bought a used Artist 22HD, and when I got home the pen didn’t work. So I ordered a charge for it, still no luck. Was excited for the upgrade from my Deco 01, but not so much anymore.

I reached out to xppen support and they told me that the pen for it (p55c) has been discontinued. I know this probably doesn’t make sense but if anyone might know of a tablet that has a pen that works with mine I’d love to know.

I’ve tried looking for one used for sale but no luck. If it doesn’t work out I’ll just use this as another monitor or something and get a different tablet :/
