Just for context: Im 22, I was living with my parents and me and my brother were paying rent for our rooms, my parents recently are going to be going through a nasty divorce. I am a musician and have a lot of Guitars/GuitarAmps/Musical Equipment in my room, alot of it was gifted to me (not formally/written down but is clear it was for me) important to mention I am the only guitar player/musician in the family. Since they are divorcing I am going to be moving out soon (currently staying with a friend cause dont trust dad) and getting my own place. My question is considering my situation and my things being gifted to me somewhat and alot of it also being my own things. What should I do if my dad decides that the things he gifted me are his and tries to take it back when I go to retrieve them and move? There is probably about $30k worth of musical equipment in my room (majority of it gifted to me) not to mention my own personal property that I want to be able to retrieve soon. Currently he is quite reserved with me grabbing my personal own things from my room/house, however i dont know how he will react when i try to retrieve my equipment and I want to be prepared. Any tips?
Edit: We didnt have any of the agreed rent in writing. We just have our bank transactions history of us transferring money to his account.
