seeking advice on how to get my curly-ish, frizzy hair down to a more flatter straighter look

I wanna experiment with my hair a bit more, and I wanna go for a mod cut/layered sort of look, but i think my hair isn’t the right type for it. I still wanna keep it a little wavy, just not curling up at the ends of the hair. Anyone have any advice such as products, hair care suggestions, etc?

whenever i don’t wash my hair, it gets wavy-ish and doesn’t curl upwards, but whenever i wash it it gets too curly at the ends. any advice?

i wanna go for something like a mod cut because i think it’d suit my face well, but my hair type just doesn’t fit it too much unless i don’t wash for a day. does anyone have advice? i can clarify any details if needed.
