First timer user, trying to figure out stabilizer

My hands are naturally shaky so I’m trying to add a delay stabilizer (the in-app pen lags behind slightly behind the physical pen, this is what I like). But what happens in my app is different then the videos. I get a sort of weird webbing effect, like the line is icing on a cake being pulled along. It’s really jarring and frustrating that it’s not laying behind so I can have smoother lines. I put it on a vector layer and that didn’t do anything. What do I do?
