I decided to work for this company because the pay was good, and I was genuinely interested in engineering. I felt motivated and ready for the challenge. They promised to train me and help me become a full project engineer.

Within the first month, I started noticing many red flags. The boss who hired me had just returned from a one-year burnout. Two other colleagues, both in their late 60s, quickly decided I wasn’t a good fit simply because I didn’t have a master’s degree. There was also one woman in administrative work who was very kind.

There was no real guidance or explanation because there was “no time.” It was always: “Here’s the project, figure it out.” Then they would get angry when something wasn’t done correctly. For two years, I was treated like the black sheep and blamed for every mistake.

My mental health has really suffered because of this. I’ve been looking for jobs for months, but it’s incredibly difficult to find something else when it feels like I’ve already lost two years.

Ready to give up and start again, but the fear is real. sorry for the rant. If someone has tips or feedback, I would really appriciated it!
