I’m a naturalized U.S. citizen and recently realized I lost my Certificate of Naturalization. I never made a U.S. passport before, and now I need to get a REAL ID in Ohio for upcoming situations.

I filed for a replacement certificate, but the Ohio BMV is refusing my I-797 notice even though their acceptable documents list seems to mention I-797 forms. From what I understand now, they may not consider it proof of citizenship by itself.

My questions are:
Has anyone successfully gotten a REAL ID while waiting for a replacement naturalization certificate?

Is there any way to expedite the N-565 replacement process?

Can USCIS provide any official temporary proof or letter confirming citizenship status?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through something similar and how you resolved it.
