sophomore sprinter looking for feedback for offseason training

I’m a sophomore sprinter and just finished my season. I dropped from 12.9 to 12.3 this year (just in-season work), and I’m trying to take training seriously going into junior year because I want to eventually compete at strong academic schools like NYU, MIT, UChicago, or even ivy leagues.

This summer I’m planning on doing:

  • 2 gym workouts a week (1 explosive-focused, 1 strength-focused)
  • Core training 5x a week
  • 2 track workouts a week (1 acceleration day, 1 top speed day)

I didn’t do any structured offseason training between freshman and sophomore year, so this will be my first real summer of training.

For sprinters who made big jumps in high school:

  • How much improvement did you see after your first serious offseason?
  • What parts of training made the biggest difference?
  • Does this plan seem good enough to make major progress?

Here’s my progression so far:

I'm currently a sophomore taking AP Calculus BC, and I'm planning on taking multivariable calc this summer and linear algebra in the fall. Potentially even differential equations later too. I'm planning on majoring in computer science and applied math, so I was wondering if doing dual enrollment and taking these advanced math classes really make an impact. I know they make some sort of impact, but I was just wondering how much of an impact does it really have. Is it something that top colleges normally see?

I'm a track and field athlete and I was just wondering if being a recruited athlete would give me a boost in admissions to MIT. I have decent academic stats (3.9 uw gpa) and I'm aiming for a 1500+ on the august sat.
