▲ 5 r/Apples

New to the sub, ordered apple trees and curious about thoughts on varieties.

New to the sub, after nearly two years of research, my husband and I finally ordered our first wave of fruit plants for our small acreage.

Of the plants, 5 of them are apple trees.

2x stayman winesap

1x Fameuse (Snow apple)

1x Jonathan

1x Rhode Island greening

a lot of the posts on here that I have scrolled through before posting haven't mentioned to many of the non-commercial or heirloom or older varieties.

so I am curious - what is the most unique apple variety you have eaten?

have you had any of the varieties we will be growing? (we are planning on more trees and maybe a couple more varieties in the future).

I have had Jonathan and stayman winesap from a nearish orchard. excited to try Fameuse and Rhode Island Greening.

My all time favorite is stayman winesap, so far.
