I think the perfect Mother’s Day gift for my mom is a temporary personality change. ;)

Every year, I stop saying “I’ll do it later” and actually do it now. Dishes? Done. Laundry? Folded (not just moved to a chair). Need help cleaning the gutters? I’m already outside with the ladder. For one full day, I become the child of her dreams haha.

It genuinely makes her life easier not having to ask twice. Or at all. She’s spent years being the system that keeps everything running (remembering birthdays, appointments, where everything is, what everyone needs, etc.) I can take over the “mental tabs” for the day. I notice things before she does. I handle them before she has to.

And this year, I’m also planning to give her a handwritten “User Manual” of everything she’s taught me… how to cook the meals she makes from memory, the little life rules she repeats, the random but useful things only she knows. Half practical, half inside jokes. (And yeah, I’ll prolly still ask her where something is while writing it. Some traditions shouldn’t be broken.)
