Where can I start researching hypothetical biochemistry?
I started a new alien planet from scratch recently, I want to make sure that this one is higher quality than my last. But I don't know enough on hypothetical biochemistry to commit to any planetary climate. I imagined the world to be Venus-like, but lower in temperature, possesses some type of oil-like ocean, and have life that is highly reliant on silicon as a base element. But I don't know where to go from there. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
