1. Men in Black - Agent K gives new recruit Agent J a history of the Men in Black. In the 1950s the US government began an underfunded agency with the "...simple and laughable purpose of establishing contacts with a race not of this planet." The tiny agency was thought of as a joke by everyone except the aliens who in 1961 made contact.

2. Game of Thrones - Tyrion Lannister is the unloved son of Tywin, the leader of House Lannister. Rather than give his disliked son a prestigious job, before the events of the books he was assigned the undignified role of being in charge of drains and cisterns within their castle of Casterly Rock, possibly for Tywin's amusement as this dealt with human waste & Tyrion theorizes "perhaps he hoped I'd fall in one."

But Tyrion demonstrates his intelligence & competence, "Some of them had been stopped up for years, but I soon had them draining merrily away." Unlikely if he noticed that Tywin gave him fair credit.

3. US Acres - Orson Pig starts a diner with the generous offer that if a customer orders something they can't make, they eat free for a month. Roy Rooster tries to take advantage by ordering silly items such as moose stew with chocolate sauce & an alligator cheese sandwich, but is frustrated Orson makes the items without trouble.

Roy then orders an elephant foot sandwich with mustard. This initially stalls Orson, but a convenient circus truck breakdown nearby suddenly means an elephant is available. Good hearted Orson does not want to harm the elephant, but does shock Roy by telling him he won as he unveiled the elephant while noting they are out of mustard.
