I have just got the Pokemon crochet square book by Ira Rott. I'm not a beginner but by no means advanced. I have got the exact wool recommended (stylecraft special dk) and hook size but when I tried making the circle as outlined in the book it came to only 2 inches wide instead of the 3.5!

I have gone up to a 5mm hook (from the recommended 4mm) and it's still too small but a 5.5mm makes the work look sloppy and gappy as it's only a double knit yarn.

Is this an issue with me or have others had the same problem with the book?

Any advice at all before I cry after buying all the wool already?

As per the title my son was served notice before 1st May to leave the property by 31st July as the landlord wants to use the property for student let (currently HMO). His contract requires he gives one month notice if he wants to leave. He has now found a new place and given his notice. Now however the estate agent acting on behalf of the landlord insists as of the 1st May he has to give 2 months notice because of the legislation.

Everything myself and others have read (and even citizens advice giving support) says this is wrong.

The estate agent is doubling down and says they consulted with their lawyers and their stance is correct.

2. How can we go forward if we are right as we don't want them to give a shit reference to the new landlord
