I'm using Logitech devices (especially keyboards) for quite a while now.

Started with a "Logitech Internet Pro" in the early 2000s, switched to a "Logitech G15" (the one with the blue display) a little bit later and had it for 15 years or so. I didn't switch because the "Internet Pro" had issues or so, I just wanted to treat myself with a nice keyboard.

Switching to a G810 about 8 years ago (because I wanted a more "clean" keyboard without and macro keys) and I'm already on my 3rd (soon 4th) Logitech keyboard already - not because I like the newest model all the time, but the old ones had issues.

The G810 started to have the "double press" issue - pressing a key once, but it was typed 2 times, also when writing other letters in between, like writing "das" ended up as "dads", closing tabs with CTRL + W closed 2 tabs, and so on - quite annoying. Taking the whole keyboard apart and cleaning it only helped for a few weeks.

So I decided to switch to a G815 Tactile about 3 years ago. The coating on the keys dissolved pretty quick and 2 1/2 years later the heavily used keys (or at least the ones that were touched by fingernails from time to time, like D, C, left Alt, right side of Space, right Shift) didn't look nice anymore and also the volume wheel started to act strange (doing the opposite of what it's supposed to be, volume up meant down sometimes and the other way round). But hey, no sign of "double press" issue!

So I decided to buy a new one, the G915 X Tactile looked nice and it was said that the dissolving coating issue was solved. The keys' coating feels different indeed, I trust them that the issue is solved, but I won't experience it because only 3 months of usage and the G915 X has the "double press" issue as well ... at first I thought it was me, because the issue started slowly, but it's clearly the keyboard - especially with the "d" key, this can be tested easily. I'm sending it back and give Logitech one more chance - if the new G915 X that I get does have the same issue, I will switch brand, most likely forever.

I'm writing on my old G815 Tactile (the ugly one 😃) now and it feels so good to not check everything you write for results of the "double press" issue. Totally new experience after dealing with the issue of the G915 X.

Rant over!
