& other armies. When should you use an apprentice warden vs the life gem?

My understanding is you use AW for high hp attacks (like root riders or superyeti/etitan ground smash attacks) and life gem for low hp attacks (like hogs/miners) but what about throwers? And what about other mid tier hp attacks like regular yeti smash or air raids?

I want to always use at least one because the HP buff is just OP, and if ur playing w modifiers its necessary imo
