▲ 1 r/3DScanning
My company is in the high-end mineral business, and many of our samples are worth a lot of money. We have methods of scanning our minerals with an old scanner, but we would like to upgrade if something better has come out. Cheaper is better, but is there anything that has come out that can scan a clear or reflective object and turn it into an accurate 3d model? Color data is a plus, but isn't needed. I've heard blue light scanners may be the answer, but I don't know.
We have tried Aesub; it reacts with some of our minerals and damages them immensely. We have also tried powders, but they cannot be cleaned out of the mineral readily.
