I would really appreciate if someone could help me! Due to extenuating circumstances I missed the osap application deadline for fall 2025 semester. Also I failed all my courses that sem :( I took a break for winter 2026 and i want to return and take courses this spring semester that starts this week. My school isnt letting me enroll since I have an outstanding balance, and when I apply to osap it says this:
Your application has been restricted for the following reason(s):
- You have not maintained satisfactory academic progress. Submit a letter to your financial aid office requesting a review of your restriction for details and next steps.
Note: information about your academic progress is also available through your online account. To access this information, select “My account” in the top navigation bar and select “Academic progress status” from the drop-down menu.
- You have defaulted on the Canada portion of your Canada-Ontario Integrated Student Loan and/or on a Canada Student Loan (CSL). To obtain clearance you must contact the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) at 1-888-815-4514. Ask them to transfer your call to the Canada Student Financial Assistance Program.
Ive been getting calls from NSLSC as well but I thought it was because they thought I was out of school so when I apply for OSAP again theyll just stop. Idk what to do at this point, the financial aid office at my school is the worst and its hard to get a hold of them. Anyone been in a similar situation? School said if I put down a $500 deposit i can enroll for this sem, and financially its so hard right now even though im working.
