Looking for Advice on a Possible DIY

Pretty much the title. Got a super uncomfortable (you can feel the middle wooden support bar clearly) and kinda ratty couch that I'm looking to spruce up. Can't really afford a new couch, and hate how hideous slip covers look. It's got a nice wood frame with nicer legs that I would hate to have hidden by a poorly fitting cover.

But I know upholstery can be a pretty monumental under taking. My wife has re-upholstered a lounge chair so has some experience, but just curious if this one looks as simple to y'all as it does to us? It seems like it should be a relatively straightforward process as we can un-stitch the fabric and use it as a pattern, then add some stuffing and make it better filled.

Just curious if anyone has advice on a starting point or a guide.

Feels like overnight it got way worse selection, and they're replaced most of the food with Cigs...did it get sold?

Edit: Looks like it was bought by a real estate group that buys up smaller stores/convenience stores around Oregon. You can find the business license and associated info on the Oregon Secretary of State site.
