I have strabismus (esotropia & hypertropia) and have been wearing prism lenses for the past 10 years. I had surgery at age 12 which was successful, but a few years later my eyes began to cross again. I never considered a second surgery since I figured it wouldn't last again. My issue now is my prism keeps getting stronger and my lenses keep getting heavier, which isn't exactly comfortable.
Has anybody had a similar experience of surgery as a child reverting, then a second (successful) surgery as an adult? I will have to wear glasses for life due to nearsightedness and astigmatism regardless, so I'm wondering if I should just suck it up with the heavier prisms or if it would be worth it to consider surgery.
