Looking for advice before buying my first pistol.

I’m an adult male and I have a hand injury on my dominant hand where two fingers are missing length/knuckles, so my right hand is basically the size of my wife’s hand while my left hand is normal adult male size. Because of that, smaller grips usually feel more comfortable to me.

I’m looking for one pistol to practice with weekly and eventually carry once I get more proficient and take a class.

So far I’ve tried the Glock 43X, M&P Shield, and CZ 75 P-01.

The 43X fit my hands the best and felt the most secure grip-wise, but the recoil/snappiness felt pretty intense as a beginner.

The Shield was too small for me and my pinky barely fit on the grip.

What surprised me was the CZ P-01. Even though it’s bigger, I could actually shoot decent groupings with it right away. With the smaller guns I could barely hit the target consistently.

So now I’m torn. Should I stick with a smaller carry gun like the 43X and just train more, or does the fact I shoot the CZ noticeably better probably mean it’s the better fit for me?

I’m also planning to try the Hellcat Pro and some Sig compact models next time I go.

Would appreciate any advice, especially from people with smaller hands.
