Just took my first metformin pill (500mg ER) because my insulin levels at my doctors appointment were super high (35.3). I’m SCARED. I’ve heard horror stories about first taking metformin but I don’t have any other options because I already eat clean and exercise. If I can’t get the insulin resistance under control I’m going to end up developing diabetes.

Out of curiosity, has anyone else here tried metformin? How was it for you?

My doctor said if we don’t have success with it we can try to fight the insurance company for a GLP1. We’re trying metformin first because it’s fully covered by my insurance.
