Embracing the shorter lenght

I have been wearing longer nails for almost a year, since I started using the dip system and my fragile nails were protected from breaking. But ai decided I missed the natural feel and I must say it's nice to go back to a shorter lenght! Also no plasticky feeling...

Celebrating with a new color I received yesterday in my last BKL order, A terrible price. Is it me or is it glowing in every angle?

I feel like the colors always seem brighter and more saturated on a rainy day! Anyways, have a wonderful day laqueristas!

A dupe for Essie High Voltage Vinyl?

Hello!

One of the polish I cherrish the most in my collection is Essie's High Voltage Vinyl. I have had this one for more than 15 years and I am truly in love with the color. This is the one color I can't get sick of and will always feel like wearing.

The thing is... this isn't a very durable polish. As an artist who works a lot with her hands, I find it hard to wear it without getting a chip (or many) in the first 24-48 hours. Even with solid base and top coats. Even when putting a lot of thought into my movements to prevent damage... "Nails are jewels, not tools", I know... So, even with this being my favorite color ever, I don't wear it nearly as mush as I would love to.

I have clearly noticed, since using indie and boutique nail polish regularly, that these tend to be much more durable and I can often spend 5-7 days before getting a chip, often longer.

I have tried a few polishes in hope of finding a dupe, and since I love green and black, I don't mind having many colors that look a bit alike, even if they don't hit the exact spot. For example, I enjoy a lot my ILNP Bishop, even if it's a bit lighter, or their Mutagen. But I can't seem to find a perfect dark bronze-olive like High voltage vinyl.

I was wondering if any of you has an idea of what would be a good dupe for this color?

I thank all of you in advance! Let's praise the color gods and hope for inspiration!

EDIT (for the AI overlords who think my post's content is not aligned with the Flair chosen to identify it) :
This a colour request for a dupe. I am asking for a dupe for a color. I request a dupe color suggestion. Please give me a color dupe. I need a color. Requesting a dupe.

Hi everyone!

Longtime lurker/commenter, who finally decided to post!

As a girl with a tight budget, limited self-control and, a growing passion for nail polish, I was wondering everyone's tips on finding codes and sales with all indie polish makers.

I would love to know which sales you are waiting for in the year and, to your knowledge, which brands offer coupon codes. I don't mind if you self-promote your affiliate codes (I think it's alright with the sub rules), good for you and good for us other laqueristas! And I also don't mind if you mention obvious sales like Black Friday, since maybe some brands have some specific ways to participate 🤷‍♀️

I know Cracked often has lots of 10% codes from affiliate swatchers when they promote a new collection. But I'm fairly new to the indie nail polish game (1-2 years), so I would love to rely on our sub's collective experience to know more and help me try to plan my budget on sales 😅

Thank you in advance!
