365 days of progress!

I started running 365 days ago (well, as of the 7th)

It's crazy to look back at where I was, and where I am now - and to see the things you can accomplish in just a year.

We all get into running for our own reasons - mine was health. And here we are down over 80 pounds!

It was hard, there were times I wanted to quit. To go back to my old ways, to just accept my diagnosis as something I can't change and just let the medication handle it. But in the end?

I persevered, I fought, and I didn't let those thoughts get to me.

You can see my first ever runs time - crawling through just over 5k in 58 mins. And my latest training run from Thursday. And really, I am proud of myself.

How has your all running journeys been? Do you have any questions on my year, I'm sure I went through similar struggles y'all might be on!

Ya win some, ya lose some.

First time trying tgtg, went to a Tim Hortons I know dies after 8pm & is in a low traffic area for a Friday night...shelves were STOCKED, dozens of every donut, timbits were overflowing.

But I got maybe $11-12 of the $15 value(4.99 box) 🤣 person looked insulted that they had to box the food. Like, I'm curious how much they are tossing out in 3 hours & why are even on the app.

Guess I'll try a different location next time.

Now that the weather is nice (plz no more snow. It snowed last week here!) it's time to break in my shoes for my summer running plans!

These should hopefully last me through my 3 half's & training this summer (may 24th Calgary, June 14 Banff, August 8th seawheeze Vancouver)

The Hokas have about 300kms on em and are currently my in use for runs. They have done me well & I have no complaints about fit! Originally I was worried n had a few blisters but lately they fit like a glove.

I just started running in the lulus - first run in em felt great! Super springy, had to force myself to slow down on my run.

The nitros haven't been broken in yet, I'll do a few runs n they are the Banff race shoes I'm thinking.
