WF bags (meat, seafood, floral, bakery, produce)
I went a little nuts because after failing to grab bags from WF for a while now, my timing last night was really good so I just kept going until I somehow ended up with 5 bags. Posting because I've had a good time seeing other people's hauls and wanted to contribute.
Bakery - I've only tried the pita and the brownies before, so I'm super thrilled I get to try other stuff (so far, the cookies and the lemon cupcakes were yum). Definitely better than my previous bag with a bunch of stuff I didn't really care for (not posted).
Produce - The bag was too full to be closed when they filled it up. I haven't been good about eating my vegetables lately so I guess it's time to work on that. Ridiculous amount of quantity so no room to complain.
Seafood - it's no caviar but I love smoked salmon and I've never gotten to try smoked tuna so still very pleased.
Meat - not my favorite haul ngl. I'm not a huge turkey nor ground meat person and I just bought a bunch of wings from Costco. But I'm excited to try the tandoori chicken since I haven't tried WF's before.
Floral - also wasn't my favorite today, though considering they're offloading the flowers that didn't sell, I shouldn't be surprised that they're wilted/have some snapped stems/not in the best condition. I'm not mad about it because the hyacinths smelled amazing on the drive back and I still managed to make 2.5 flower arrangements with them, but I'm not sure if I'd get it again.
$5 DG Doughnuts - Ocoee, FL
One of the only 5 star ratings on the app in my area. 6 "fancy" donuts, one classic rainbow sprinkle and a bunch of donut holes. Easily $30 value even though it only needs to be $15
Whole Foods refrigerated bag $6.99-Westford, MA
No eggs cracked either
My First Whole Foods Seafood Bag
Might as well have been a bagel toppings bag 🥲
Whole Foods Specialty bag $10.21
Finally scored a Whole Foods bag and this was their “specialty”. Nothing but cheeses that I can’t eat—2 types of Brie, burrata, and a super Stinky Valdeon. I feel so bad this is going to go to waste.
I’m assuming none of these can be frozen. I’m going to offer it on our local buy nothing group and hope it doesn’t all end up in the trash.
Samyi Cake - Rosemead, CA
Samyi Cakes Medium Cake Surprise Bag, $8.99 with $21.99 value. I have been waiting forever to grab a bag from this bakery, it is so rare to pop up. A few bags actually were made available but I didn't want to be greedy and only got one. When I arrived I was given the choice of either a whole 6 inch pistachio cake or this 6 inch sampler of four flavors of their Japanese cheesecake. Four flavors were original, strawberry, cookies and cream, and matcha. It was SOOOOOOOO delicious, so fluffy, so subtly sweet I wish I had been a greedy asshole and gotten more bags!
I do want to warn others that they posted the bags up for grabs at 7pm, and pickup window was exactly 7pm-7:40pm. It’s in a high traffic area, between the 210 and 10 freeway. You need to pay close attention to traffic and if you’ll make it there in time.
Daylight Donuts In BA
$5.99 for 13 donuts and 4 sausage rolls, bought two extra sausage rolls for practically the same price lol.
2 Surprises from Tiff's Treats Louetta Houston TX
Hello.
Paid $19.46 (tax included) for 2 Surprise bags from Tiff's Treats (Louetta RS) in Houston, TX.
Checked at their website and for 30 cookies (2.5 dozens) is valued $60.
Some were broken, but still good (baked from yesterday).
Good quality, but, I kinda believe that they could give out some more cookies.
WF Meat Haul for the week
These were three separate bags, 2 different locations. The chicken bag definitely didn’t hit the $30 promised value, but still great for $10. Already cooked the 10lb ham, and it was delicious!
Baygulls bagels (Tampa Fl)
22 total bagels for $4.99 (had 3 during the day prior to this pic as they are that good!). super fresh, and awesome variety of flavors.
-6 total stuffed/ topped with cheese
-2 chocolate
-2 cinnamon
-1 sesame
-3 lemon poppy
-2 plain
-2 flakey salt
-2 unknown believe rye?
-2 everything
Aldi (Swindon , UK) - £3.30 ($4.50)
Weather is nice here, looks like I might have to fire up the BBQ.
IKEA West Chester, OH - Swedish food market $5.99
First time receiving IKEA TGTG items. Very pleased.
Pizza Hut..$4.99
A large cheese pizza! They baked it while I waited to pick up so hot and fresh! I wasn’t sure what to expect but very happy! Alexandria, VA
Whole Foods Sunnyvale California, one bakery bag $6.99, one prepared food bag $9.99
Very happy with this bakery bag, first time I’ve snagged one. Guava pastries, chocolate croissants, two kinds of English scones, and some dulce de Leche mini beignets.
And nothing we don’t like in the prepared foods bag: spaghetti and meatballs, a hummus snack box and a chicken salad snack box.
I’ve never had English scones before, but my English friends have told me how terrible American scones are. They are right, these are much better.
Vicky’s Bakery $5.99
Unfortunately ordered a baked goods bag and almost this entire bag was savory items. You can’t see it in this picture but these are all filled with meat filling or tomato filling. The small things are chicken croquettes. I don’t eat this type of stuff hence why I picked the baked goods bag and not the savory bag but oh well.
WF Floral (2X) and Produce (2X), Greensboro, NC
Two floral bags, one bag had 1 dozen roses and 1 dozen tulips. Both were in fairly decent shape. The second bag had another dozen roses and a mixed flower arrangement, also in good shape. I've gotten 9 total floral bags this year and 7 have been house plants, so I was very happy to finally get some bouquets.
Also got two produce bags. Bag one had two salad kits, broccoli florets, lettuce blend, and portobello mushrooms. Total value was $23.45, a bit over the promised $21 value. The second bag had another two salad kits, more broccoli florets, and a mixed mushroom medley. Value was $18.26, below the promised $21 value, but the two bags added together came close to hitting the value mark. The Greensboro store has been falling far under the stated $21 value in their produce bags lately, so it's good to see their value coming closer again.
