Rotating the handlebar clamps 180 degrees

I am not much of a mechanic and get nervous anytime I need to do things with my bikes systems but I really want to rotate the handlebar clamps around for a bit more standing room on the TA. Is there anything I should know or be aware of before I attempt this?
It appears that you can just remove the bars, re bolt the top clamps and rotate them using a pipe or something strong that fits inside the closed handlebar clamp to rotate them.
Am I over complicating this in my head or is there anything else I need to be concerned about before attempting this? Thank you all for any advise on this one.

Getting the TA dirty this last weekend

Went out and explored some of the area south of Lake Cushman, WA. Did about 30 miles of gravel road and the bike handled beautifully. Now I just want to get a better mapping system to ensure I do not get lost out there.
