Why are Christians obsessed with healthmaxxxing?

I find it deeply ironic that some Christians are so obsessed with preserving their health and living a so-called healthy lifestyle when they are so sure that they will go to heaven when they die. They talk all the time about how death is actually a good thing because it means reunion with God, family, etc. but for some reason, they seem so obsessed with not dying 😅

This obsession with perfect health also seems to be something MLMs latch on to. So many MLMs popular with Christians are usually stuff that promise to cure every single ailment on the planet.

Case in point. My parents are Christians and I am agnostic. I have chronic pain, and whenever I complain about how something hurts in my body, my parents will always say, "Oh you need to lose weight." "Start eating more vegetables." "Stop eating instant noodles."

It always annoys them when I respond with, "We are here for a good time, not a long time," as I bite into my fried chicken. As if the thought of dying is so repulsive and appalling to them.

I dunno, out of all the things I think about as an ex-Christian, I am stumped here. Why do Christians want to prolong their lives so much when they believe this world isn't even their home? I myself am 50/50 on an afterlife (I like to imagine it's like The Good Place ending), so I don't really think it matters how much you try to preserve your own life.
