What is the workload/WLB actually like for a finance major at UGA?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently a sophomore student at GSU Perimeter and planning to transfer to UGA and major in finance, and I wanted to get a realistic idea of what the workload is like.

tbh, I didn't take APs in high school or the ACT/SAT in high school, so I’m trying to understand how big the adjustment could be.

There's a few questions I have in mind:

  • On average, how many hours do finance majors (or other business majors) spend studying or studying assignments?
  • How intense are the lectures? I heard people having to sit through 3+ lectures in one day.. How do you keep up with it?
  • For someone coming from a more regular (non-AP/academically intensive) background, is it really manageable for someone like me?
  • How do you manage your time and still have a life outside of school (like still being able to go to the gym, hanging out with friends, etc)

I'm willing to push myself and try my best to adapt to a whole new environment. I just want to know what i'm realistically getting into and how to prepare.
