BIG changes to Nordstrom DEBIT card holders
Nordstrom DEBIT card -
Short story - Everytime you use the debit card, it will pull that amount from your checking account automatically. Anytime you return something, you have to wait 3 business cycles and then a check for the refund gets mailed to you, set to arrive in 10-14 business days.
Long story - I just learned that with the new credit company handling the debit and credit cards, if you use the debit card, it pulls from your checking account even if you have a credit on your Nordstrom account from returning an item.
And the only way to get your credit ($$) returned to you is by waiting 3 billing cycles and then they MAIL the check to you that will arrive in 10-14 business days. So...yeah. And there are no other options. I asked.
I have a credit of over $500 and had no idea since it did not roll back automatically like it had in the past to my checking account. My card was not working in the store (not related to my finances but to having the incorrect checking account # which I don't understand how that was possible) and they told me about the $500 credit I have over the phone when the sales rep had to call the company. My card worked after they updated my checking account number - which I have no idea why it was suddenly incorrect- and then I paid for the in store item. It was almost $100. Today, I saw a charge on my checking account. Confused on why I would have a charge with a $500 credit, I called the 866-491-7860 number and that was when I was informed of the new way the debit card will be handed. Crazy. I am now waiting for a check to come in the mail to me for the credit on my account. 😵💫
