Insulin Analogs and Increased Risk of Cancer/Development of Diseases
Hi everyone!
I'm from Brazil and I have LADA type diabetes, diagnosed 21 days ago (C-peptide 0.60 and IA-2 >200 IU/ml). I'm being treated with NPH and Regular insulins, but they've been causing spikes that have disrupted my routine with hypoglycemia at times when I need high energy. When talking to my endocrinologist, I asked about switching to insulin analogs, but he brought up patient safety as an argument against working with the more modern alternatives.
How is this for you? I even researched it and saw that in the past there was this concern about the use of Lantus and the risk of developing cancer, but from what I've seen, nothing has been proven. How does it work where you are? Have you seen anything about this?
Thank you!Hugs
