5 day free AMD EPYC VPS trial, anything I should watch for?

I’ve been testing out a short VPS trial I found, mainly to run some benchmarks before deciding on anything long term.

It’s based on AMD EPYC with NVMe storage and full root access, so I’ve been moving a test site over and checking performance under load. So far it feels solid, but I’m not sure how much of that is just the fresh server effect.

I’m also thinking this could be a potential upgrade from my current home setup if the performance actually holds up.

The one I’m trying is from Bisup Web Hosting. They offer a few days free and then you can decide if you want to continue on a paid plan.

For those who’ve used EPYC VPS setups before, is there anything specific I should test or watch out for? Just trying to get a better sense of long term performance.

rto email dropped last week. been on linkedin every day since and nothing is moving. seriously considering switching into tech but trying to figure out if paid programs are worth it

been remote for 3 years. moved specifically because of this job. better apartment, better part of town, have a routine that works. last week got the email. 4 days in office starting q2. fifth day they're calling flexible, which is just full rto with softer branding.

i'm not rage quitting. i have bills. but i'm also not doing this long term so i've been on linkedin every single day since the email came in. i'm an ops coordinator, project management background, nothing that requires being in a specific building. i found that every remote ops role either went hybrid in the last few months or has 300 plus applications within 24 hours. it's not a viable path right now.

so i've been seriously looking at pivoting. the direction that keeps coming up for people without a cs degree is QA testing or AI automation. lower barrier to entry, remote roles exist at entry level, doesn't require you to already know how to code.

there seem to be two real options. free self-study through youtube, freecodecamp, free QA certification courses. people swear by it, costs nothing, but you're completely on your own figuring out what to learn and in what order. or structured bootcamp programs. i've been looking at Careerist, TripleTen, and Springboard specifically. they range from 4k to 7k and they all claim to include internship experience and job search coaching on top of the actual training.

the gap between free and six thousand dollars is hard to mentally bridge when i don't know yet if i can get hired after. i have some runway but not unlimited. if anyone has made this kind of switch from a non-tech ops background i really want to hear what you'd do differently knowing what you know now.

How are people getting phone numbers from LinkedIn profiles?

Running growth at a B2B SaaS and LinkedIn is our main prospecting source. We export lists from Sales Navigator and enrich them but phone coverage is still our weak point. Tried a few Chrome extensions directly on profiles but results are inconsistent and I'm not sure how these tools are actually getting the data in the first place, whether it's scraping LinkedIn directly, pulling from third-party databases, or doing real-time lookups from other public sources, idk

Have you insights on this ?

i got tired of copying youtube transcripts one by one so i built a bulk exporter

researching competitor channels was taking me hours because every tool out there only does one video at a time. so i built beyondtube.pro to just do the whole channel at once.

you paste a channel url and it pulls every video and full transcript into a searchable library. the best part is you can bulk export like 50 videos at once to .md files for claude or chatgpt. it handles all the proxy stuff on the backend so no ip bans.

link is beyondtube.pro if anyone wants to test it out and try breaking it. let me know what features i should add next.

An app to boost my video creation

I'm a full-time content creator. Lately, I've been organizing various videos on my Mac, include interviews, audio recordings, screen recordings, etc. Honestly, the most frustrating part isn't editing, but finding a specific clip later because there's so much material. I clearly remember a sentence or scene, but I just can't recall where it is.

Recently, I stumbled upon a new Mac app, Clipto.AI. It helps me find the video clips I want. For the first time, it actually feels like my files are searchable instead of just sitting there. Plus, I can easily share files with teammates using AirDrop, even if we work remotely. This isn’t an ad; I paid for it myself, and I don’t mind paying for tools that actually help. If you know of any similar apps, please let me know; I really need.

Dad is driving me nuts about insurance scams, need the most easy-to-use dashcam ever

My dad has been watching too many crash compilations and now he's paranoid every time he drives. He drives a '14 CR-V which only has a basic backup cam, so the blind spots are still pretty big. He constantly thinks people are trying to brake check him or sideswipe him. I want to get him a dashcam just to calm his nerves, but he is completely technologically illiterate. He can barely use his smart tv remote.

I need something that is strictly set-and-forget. Please no phone apps or complex menus. Just something that turns on and records when the car starts.

He keeps complaining about his blind spots. Are there any easy-to-use cams out there that record the sides too? Or should I just tell him to stick with a basic front cam? I really don't want to deal with crazy complicated wiring since it's a 10+ year old car and I don't want to rip the dash apart. What do you guys buy for your paranoid older parents?
