Teachers, do you think you love the kids you teach, or are you just doing your job?

Hi, I wonder what really goes on in a teacher's mind. Do you feel some level of affection towards your students? Do you ever worry about them? Or is it just like, you do your job of teaching them and forget about them as soon as school is over?

EDIT: Thanks for your responses!

Parents, what would you do if your kid threatens to run away from home?

Hi, I'm wondering what to do if a kid is upset with a house rule and says that they would just run away unless the rule is changed. How do you handle this? And it's a fact that the law requires you to take care of your minor kids, so how do you stay compliant with it? And what if your kid actually runs away and, when caught, tells police that he or she doesn't want to live with you at any cost and will run away again if forced back home? You know how difficult teenagers get, right?

For students with negative balances, why do they throw the tray in the trash and give a sandwich instead?

Hi, this is coming from a non-American. I'm trying to understand how the whole logic makes sense in US school cafeterias. I have no experience with this, as in my country, schools do not have cafeterias - everyone gets their own lunchboxes from home and eats in class.

First of all, I saw that the cash register is placed at the end of the line, after the food has already been placed on the tray. Why would anyone do that, instead of placing the register at the entry point so that people who cannot pay don't put food on their trays?

Secondly, why is the tray dumped into the trash if it's taken away due to a negative balance? Can't you just place the food back where it was? And then the school gives an alternate meal for free - but the school already lost money by trashing the tray, and then it wants to lose more money by giving a free alternate sandwich? Instead of that, why not just let the kid keep the tray and save money on the alternate sandwich?

I've seen this difference a lot, and I'm really curious why. Is it because Indian sharks are very conservative about their investments and wish to buy only small slices of the company? Or is there any law or business practice in India that prevents dilution in the future?
