i'm so upset with myself. I've been playing since I was five but I feel like I haven't gotten any better. I was the best in my class back then as I would pick my own songs and sing with them but now it takes me weeks to learn a song. all I know how to do is sight read, and even that takes a while. I cant compose, when I sight read I still struggle with timing and I can barley read ledger lines. and I can only play the right hand by ear. I wish I would've taken it more seriously when I was young as I still yearn to play and preform. I only got up to Royal conservatory level 5. is there anyway I can get better? ive been going through my old books and playing songs from there, picking a new song to play everyday and practicing it as well as doing scales and arpeggios. how do I advance? I want to be able to see sheet music and play perfectly and compose my own music and just hear a song and be able to play by ear. another thing is my eyesight. it gets worse every year. I can barley read my sheet music and I struggle to see my hands on the piano. any help or advice is very much appreciated
