Need some advice
So I’ve been getting to know this girl for about seven months now. Things are going great, Alhamdulilah, and I’m about to graduate in a month. The thing is, recently the marriage talk has started to get serious. But the problem is, as someone who is about to graduate with a degree in a field that’s barely hiring at the moment, it would be hard to have a big wedding. I explained this to her and suggested that maybe we save up for a while and, with the help of family, we could have the wedding she wants. But this girl wants to close things off by the end of this year, and with the type of wedding she wants and all the expenses that would come with it, I don’t think that is possible. I’m willing to do a big nikkah and make things halal as soon as possible, but it seems like every time we have this conversation it ends in an argument.
