Maybe I'm just paranoid because he was flirting, like weeks back and now he isn't anymore, but he's paying more attention to my friends than me.

This guy is not a player type. He's had a pretty long-lasting relationship until late last year and they have ended on mutual terms as far as I know.

I think I must have driven him away or something because I'm considered as a sort of "weird" kid or something, but he already kinda knew that prior to the change.

I feel like he doesn't really talk to me anymore unless I talk to him first. However, he has talked the most to my two friends lately and one of them is my best friend of 4 years now. He's usually teasing her and takes initiative to interact. Meanwhile, he won't even look me in the eye.

I'm not afraid to admit that I am jealous.

I don't mean to be sad, I'm low-key already trying to move on, but I genuinely thought we could've gone somewhere just a few weeks ago. Today, I did kinda just avoid thinking about him.. I didn't mean to do some cliche 'ignoring him to see what he does' kinda bs, but I couldn't help it. 😔

Should I just give it some time or should I move on?

BACKSTORY:

I've been liking this guy for a few months now, officially.

I've known him and his friend since the start of high school and became friends with his best friend around the second half of last year, and the two of them sit in front of me and my friend in almost every class so interactions are daily, but he's annoyingly inconsistent with his signs.

The positive signs are that:

- I catch him staring often

- He often gets involved in what I'm doing (but sometimes it takes some initiation or me orchestrating something)

- He has winked at me out of nowhere, unprompted.

- He talks with my mates a lot.

- He likes all of my posts, no matter what they are.

- He doesn't move away too fast when we make contact.

- Teases a lot.

Negative signs:

- Still VERY inconsistent.

- Hasn't given me a proper sign lately.

- Seems more comfortable with my mates.

- Doesn't really take much initiative to talk to me unless promoted.

- Has been avoiding eye contact lately.

Either he doesn't want to be obvious or I've driven him away because I over-shared too much when he's around and fumbled. Or maybe I moved too fast and creeped him out??? Or maybe he was just playing w/ me 😞
