Anybody else have bad experiences in UHW? Our outpatient appointments were generally good and I can't complain but the day we went in for c-section we were made feel like a nuisance.

At 8a.m i was separated from my partner and and left in two waiting rooms after pre assessment. I was alone for 5 hours and they refused to let my partner in even though it was just me in the room. The midwife clearly didn't want to be working and her reply to me asking can I see my partner was " I dont usually work here i don't know ".

They brought me in for epidural and I asked if my partner could come in and they said no its ok we will call him when you are going down to theater which wont be for another while.

They put me in the surgical gown and put my phone away and within 20 mins I was being wheeled into theater and couldn't tell my partner.

I asked again and again and they just kept saying yeah we will get him dont worry.

I was opened up and mid section begging for my partner. Then they realised nobody was sent for him.

He only arrived 1 minute before delivery. He told me they were very panicked when they came to get him and he had to run incase he missed the birth of our child.

After delivery they were stitching me up and the doctors started arguing over some drug dose and it was really weird. Voices were being raised before a midwife intervened.

On the postnatal ward i was violently sick from the morphine and in pain, midwives would ask me if I wanted something to help and would've return for hours.

I rang the bell 2 hours after to ask if I could get the pain relief now and she gave out to mr saying I should have taken it when it was offered to me earlier?

One of the midwives disconnected my drip but never reconnected it and it was pouring into my bed for ages until I realised I was lying in a puddle of water.

The next day I was still extremely sick and the midwive dragged me out of the bed for a shower which I would have loved but told her I didnt feel up to it and would rather wash by the bedside but she insisted I get up and go. I get you have to encourage people to recover but I vomited all over the ward floor and fainted.

After 2 nights I was feeling a bit better but didn't feel ready to leave yet when the doctor came in at 6am and told me we could go home. they originally told me I was staying for 3 nights and had planned for this so I was a bit rushed. By 10am just after breakfast the midwives were repeatedly telling me I need to leave because they need the beds really badly. We were packing and getting the baby ready when the cleaner began mopping around our feet. The audiology girl came in and was like "oh youre leaving already?". The midwives looked annoyed but they managed to do the hesring test while we're standing by the ward sink.

As we were leaving (very happily mind you) the next new mam was waiting in the corridor for our bedspace.

In retrospect im glad we got out a bit earlier but overall it felt totally chaotic and uncaring.

Me and my partner are still like what the hell just happened??
