RLT After Knee Surgery

I had surgery to repair a patella fracture in February. The one or two RLT spots in my city were really expensive, but a local tanning salon just added several two-panel booths at an affordable monthly rate and I just went in for my first 10-minute session. I have two questions:

  1. should the experience feel hot? The website says they use three wavelengths in their panels - 630nm, 660nm, and 850nm. I was almost immediately very warm, like a hot sauna or standing in direct intense sunlight. I didn’t expect it at all. Is that the higher wavelength and can it harm healing or negatively impact visibility/formation of my incision scar?

  2. I’ve read that RLT boosts facial and body hair growth. I already deal with excessive dark facial hair as a woman and am not looking to promote more, but the booths leave nowhere to hide. I’d love the skin benefits for my face, but I’m here for healing primarily. Has anyone used a mineral sunscreen on common facial hair locations to prevent this? Or will I need to cover my face every session?

Also, if you’ve had knee surgery, hit me with your stories using RLT.
