i’ve been at this company for at least 4 years. i was told back in jan / february i was getting a promotion. prior to that. i was able to get my company to give me a raise because i was being recruited and they matched the salary of the other company. my current role is being phased out and i was supposed to move into my new role basically any day now. started getting invited to meetings. most of the company knew about it. internal folks are asking to meet so i can understand how our current process works and what updates they would like to see me make.

then all of sudden - i was told i needed to interview for it to prove i had the technical skills for it. this new role has never existed at our company before so it would be brand new.

meanwhile my counter part (a yt man) who was also promoted got a paid training to ensure he could do his role. i’ve had to beg and plead for my boss to even tell me what classes or training i should be taking and he told me to just go to coursea and udemy to look.

my official title has also been changed to the new role so i inquired into well what happens if i don’t get the job. my boss’ response: well you can move to a different department. which means i would have to take a pay cut after negotiating my salary increase.

i can’t help but feel like this is a classic discrimination case against me. i’ve cried so much about this and limbo i’m in. it feels like my executive has it out for me and i have 0 clue why. i can feel that any day now i’ll be fired or laid off.

(this is just a vent more than anything, ive seen this happen at previous companies especially to other women so im not shocked im next)
