I’m 21(M) and have never been in a relationship. I’ve been shy and introverted pretty much my whole life, so talking to girls romantically is completely new to me.

Recently, I messaged a girl on Instagram. She replied sweetly and we talked a little, but now I honestly don’t know how to continue the conversation. We’re basically strangers I don’t really know anything about her yet.

The thing is, I’m overthinking a lot because this is the first time I’ve talked to a girl with the hope that it could turn into something romantic. I’m scared that if the conversation gets awkward or goes wrong, I’ll keep thinking about it and regret it later.

How do people normally move conversations forward in situations like this without sounding forced or weird?
