Xbox crashes when trying to open Minecraft.
Recently started playing Minecraft again on my Xbox Series X and it keeps crashing at exactly 72% on the loading screen every single time.
The weird part — if I hold the Xbox menu button open while it loads, it actually gets past the loading screen and into the main menu. But the second I close the Xbox menu, it crashes immediately.
Here's everything I've already tried:
- Full uninstall and reinstall
- Cleared cache and saved data from console (not cloud)
- Full factory reset of the console
- Tried Minecraft Preview — same crash at 72%
- Tried a brand new Microsoft account — still crashes
- Lowered resolution to 1080p @ 60hz
- Wall power cycle (unplugged for 60 seconds)
Other games like Apex Legends and Elden Ring run perfectly fine for hours with zero issues, so this is clearly Minecraft-specific and not a hardware problem.
Has anyone else experienced this recently? Completely out of ideas at this point.
